Diana set out two square plates, a chocolate shaver, a pastry brush, a round cookie cutter, and a powdered sugar shaker. “Can you please bring that cake over?” She pointed at the quarter sheet cake cooling on the counter.
Jackson quickly brought it to her. He appreciated the freedom that cooking offered to conceal mistakes, so he was constantly impressed by Diana’s baking skill precision. He watched her create two rounds of cake and set them off to the side. She then dipped her pastry brush in raspberry coulis and swiped it across each plate. After she placed the cakes on top of the coulis, she dusted them with powdered sugar, shredded chocolate on top, and added some freshly-picked raspberries for extra brightness.
