When Aura got to Ghana, they didn’t have any set plans. They had made a few friends on Semester at Sea, and as they were wandering the halls of the cruise-ship-turned-academic-institution, Megan stopped them in their tracks. “Let’s get out there and explore,” she said. The two met up with a group of people outside the ship and headed off to a reggae festival, chaperoned by a local. Upon arrival, the location was deserted, so their local guide took the group back to his house for a feast of soup, steak, and a lot of palm wine.
